I came across this great piece of guidance by Dave Baldschun SGI-USA Study Department Senior Staff – I hope you like it!
“I have heard that in Nichiren Buddhism, no prayer goes unanswered. But I don’t always feel like I got the specific thing I chanted for.
So what does “No prayer goes unanswered” mean? There [...]

It seemed like an age, but finally the time (Jun 3) finally arrived to receive Gohonzon.
The journey seemed to fly by, and we arrived at Taplow in good time. The car park was already virtually full – obviously a big day for a lot of people!
We were a little too late to attend the morning [...]

Five Keys To Becoming Happy

I came across another piece by Shin Yatomi and thought I would share it. I hope you enjoy it.
How do I become happy?
If you lived in a palace where you could enjoy everything – beauty, health, money and power – would you consider leaving behind such a ‘happy’ life? I probably would not.

But one [...]

I have just been to see ‘Harry Potter and The Order Of The Phoenix’ and could not believe my eyes (or ears)!

First Time At Taplow Court

A couple of weeks before I was to receive Gohonzon, I attended a Weekend HQ Course at Taplow Court. (For non-uk readers, Taplow Court is the home of SGI-UK).
I vividly remember seeing Taplow for the first time. It will stay with me for the rest of my life.
Driving through the gates and gazing [...]

Learning to Chant (Part 2)

After a short while, I began to notice things were slightly different. I was aware that I might have done something, or responded to something slightly differently (better). Challenging issues seemed easier to deal with, and I felt calmer and more settled.
At one of the first meetings I attended, I asked what the process was [...]

Timely Encouragement

My place of work has been severely water-damaged following the recent floods in the area, and its been all hands on deck to mop up.
The morning after the flood, traffic was badly affected, and what usually takes me around an hour, took 5 ½ hours, followed by a two mile walk because that was the [...]
